2.4.2 Dentists/Practices
In contrast to German dentists, dentists in Italy are predominantly doctors (surgeons) with a dental specialization. Only since the academic year of 2009/2010 has there been an independent degree programme in ”Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics”. As a result, many dentists do not work exclusively as dentists, but earn their income from both dental and medical services.73
There are also major differences not only in the regional distribution of dentists, but also in dental incomes, which are almost twice as high in the north of Italy as in the south.74
Italian dental practices are under increasing competitive pressure from practices organized in chains. In addition, more and more patients are only visiting practices for check-ups and teeth cleaning – rather low-priced treatments.75 In 2021, the proportion of individual practices was 59.3 %. 51.2 % of active dentists work in their own practice.76

It is also possible to download the first chapter freely in the paid publications and only then decide to buy. You can access the purchased publications, which are regularly updated, for one year. Only if you expressly confirm this, the right of use will be extended for another year. The extent of the publication (S, M, XL, etc.) is visible to you and clicking on the content allows you to access it directly.

Usage
If you enter a term in the search field at the top, only those publications that contain hits will be displayed. You can search for related terms by putting them in quotation marks (e.g. "Rebmann Research").
Once you have decided on a publication, the HIT-O-METER® shows all hits sorted by chapter. Hits are displayed by both quality (green) and quantity (blue).
In a second hit display to the right of the search field, hits in all other publications are displayed in a metasearch, which are available in GESUNDHEITSMARKT WISSEN. Once you are unlocked for these, you can jump back and forth between the content as you wish.
Thanks to the superimposed chapter and content structure, you always know where you are.
The display of text snippets makes it easier to quickly find the right thing and jump directly to the place where it was found. Once in the full text, you will always find the hit display sorted by chapter, so that you can then jump straight to the next interesting passage.
Use the arrows on the edge of the display to scroll forward and backward through the publication. You can also use the functionalities of your browser, to move around the websites or, for example, to set bookmarks.
