2.5.2 Dentists/Practices
With 3.88 dental graduates per 100,000 inhabitants, Spain has one of the highest rates of young dentists in Europe. As dentists are allowed to practice independently straight after their license to practice without a residency period, competition is increasing rapidly.84 As of 2021, 23,559 dental practices were registered across Spain.85
In Spain, general practitioners are usually responsible for providing primary dental care to the adult population. In some urban health centers, dentists are also involved in primary care. The package of services included in basic insurance covers tooth extractions, the treatment of infections or inflammations, preventive measures for pregnant women and caries prevention for children. However, most dental treatments are carried out in private practices, where patients are required to pay for services directly. The majority of dentists work as private dentists. There is no regulated dental specialist training in Spain, but dentists in private practice are increasingly specializing in areas such as orthodontics or oral surgery. There is no formal training for non-dental practice staff in Spain. However, dental hygienists must undergo two years of training and education in private or public schools. Dental hygienists are allowed to carry out prophylaxis and oral health education, but only if a dentist is present in the practice.86

It is also possible to download the first chapter freely in the paid publications and only then decide to buy. You can access the purchased publications, which are regularly updated, for one year. Only if you expressly confirm this, the right of use will be extended for another year. The extent of the publication (S, M, XL, etc.) is visible to you and clicking on the content allows you to access it directly.

Usage
If you enter a term in the search field at the top, only those publications that contain hits will be displayed. You can search for related terms by putting them in quotation marks (e.g. "Rebmann Research").
Once you have decided on a publication, the HIT-O-METER® shows all hits sorted by chapter. Hits are displayed by both quality (green) and quantity (blue).
In a second hit display to the right of the search field, hits in all other publications are displayed in a metasearch, which are available in GESUNDHEITSMARKT WISSEN. Once you are unlocked for these, you can jump back and forth between the content as you wish.
Thanks to the superimposed chapter and content structure, you always know where you are.
The display of text snippets makes it easier to quickly find the right thing and jump directly to the place where it was found. Once in the full text, you will always find the hit display sorted by chapter, so that you can then jump straight to the next interesting passage.
Use the arrows on the edge of the display to scroll forward and backward through the publication. You can also use the functionalities of your browser, to move around the websites or, for example, to set bookmarks.
