2.5.3 Dental laboratories
The purely school-based training to become a dental technician takes two years. Subsequent registration is voluntary.88 Until the start of the coronavirus pandemic, the number of dental technicians had been rising steadily (2019: 7,530), but has recently been declining slightly and currently stands at 7,430 (as of the end of 2023). The profession is predominantly practiced by men (68,5 %).89 1,185 of all Spanish dental technicians are registered in the Madrid area alone (0.18 dental technicians per 1,000 inhabitants). The highest supply densities are found in Cantabria (0.27), Valencia (0.25) and Aragon (0.21), the lowest in La Rioja and Castilla/La Mancha (0.09) and in Extremadura and the Canary Islands (0.12). The proportion of younger dental technicians (under 45 years old) is 40.1 %, while 54.6 % are between 45 and 64 years old. Only 5.3 % are 65 or older.90 The majority of the 3,800 or so dental laboratories are small and very small companies with great potential for consolidation. Several investor-backed dental laboratory chains are already active in the country. Companies with modern CAD/CAM production are expecting a significant increase in turnover as demand for aesthetic and orthodontic treatments in particular is on the rise.91

It is also possible to download the first chapter freely in the paid publications and only then decide to buy. You can access the purchased publications, which are regularly updated, for one year. Only if you expressly confirm this, the right of use will be extended for another year. The extent of the publication (S, M, XL, etc.) is visible to you and clicking on the content allows you to access it directly.

Usage
If you enter a term in the search field at the top, only those publications that contain hits will be displayed. You can search for related terms by putting them in quotation marks (e.g. "Rebmann Research").
Once you have decided on a publication, the HIT-O-METER® shows all hits sorted by chapter. Hits are displayed by both quality (green) and quantity (blue).
In a second hit display to the right of the search field, hits in all other publications are displayed in a metasearch, which are available in GESUNDHEITSMARKT WISSEN. Once you are unlocked for these, you can jump back and forth between the content as you wish.
Thanks to the superimposed chapter and content structure, you always know where you are.
The display of text snippets makes it easier to quickly find the right thing and jump directly to the place where it was found. Once in the full text, you will always find the hit display sorted by chapter, so that you can then jump straight to the next interesting passage.
Use the arrows on the edge of the display to scroll forward and backward through the publication. You can also use the functionalities of your browser, to move around the websites or, for example, to set bookmarks.
